Call for Papers

Back in 1919, the Department of International Politics is founded at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. As a reaction to the bloodbath of 1914-18, the aim of the study of International Relations was to have a better understanding of war and peace. As scholars came forward with different perspectives, ‘Great Debates’ helped the study of International Relations to emerge as a separate academic discipline which expanded and explored the disciplinary, methodological, epistemological, and ontological boundaries of the field. Therefore, the discipline broke its narrow aspect up and universalised intellectually.

In this sense, IR in Its Centenary is determined as the theme of the 3rd Politics and International Relations Congress which will be organised by the Department of International Relations at Karadeniz Technical University on 12-13 September 2019.

The Congress aims to convene a vast array of contributors, including policymakers, practitioners and researchers to reflect the full diversity of the politics and international relations community from across the globe.
